James Bond, également connu par son matricule 007, est un personnage de fiction créé en 1953 par l’écrivain et ancien espion britannique Ian Fleming.
Ces romans ont été d’immenses succès internationaux, mais ce sont les nombreuses et régulières adaptations cinématographiques qui ont fait de James Bond, espion des services secrets britanniques et grand séducteur, un authentique mythe contemporain.
Une première adaptation pour la chaîne de télévision américaine CBS, où James Bond est incarné par Barry Nelson, est diffusée en 1954, en tant que troisième épisode de la série télévisée Climax!. C’est la première aventure filmée de James Bond, qui est inspiré du premier roman de Ian Fleming : Casino Royale.
